You absolutely have to tell your mom. Eight year olds are just kids but she probably saw it on TV and it is incredibly important that your 8 yr old brother always tell your mom everything. One day it could be something serious so he needs to develop the habit of being honest with the people who can protect him- his parents. Good for you too for being a concerned big sis too.
