Moved a refrigerator from inside the house to the garage.?

I moved a refrigerator across town and put the fridge in the garage, it came out of a kitchen. I let the fridge sit for 8 hours before plugging it in. It started up, I could hear the compressor start up, it worked for a while then I noticed that the stuff in the freezer was thawing. The temperature in the garage was in the upper 20's when I plugged the fridge in and stayed in the low 20's over night. Does the temperature in the garage have anything to do with the fridge not working?
